Yoga, mindfulness & counselling
Research showed that yoga reduced anxiety and improved overall wellbeing. Practicing yoga and mindfulness give yourself time to watch your thoughts and feel your body sensation, instead of reacting to what’s happening around you. This reallocates your attention to breathe, slow down and pace yourself. Understanding fight or flight response helps us regulate our body physiologically and psychologically. Yoga practice is one of the effective grounding strategies for anxiety.
Fee: $180 (1 hr per session)
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Module 1: Mindfulness
Module 2: Distress tolerance
Module 3: Emotion regulation
Module 4: Interpersonal effectiveness
In each module, educational material on each skill will be provided. During the session, we will discuss how the skill applies to specific problems and behaviours, as well as practice the skill. After the session, you will have homework to practice the specific skills in order to solidify the skill. This practice will be reviewed at the next session. You will reflect on how the practice went, and how the skill can be applied to your own situation. You are required to complete all modules.
Fee: $1,080 (1.5 hours x 4 sessions)
