Chair yoga makes yoga accessible to those with physical limitations. If you find it difficult to practice on the floor or experience knee and back pain, this gentle yoga can help you stay active and enhance mobility. While seated on chairs, students can do modified yoga postures to strengthen arms and legs, open hips and energise the body. The session is very gentle yet allows you to work out every part of the body. Our oldest student is 98 years old! It's never too late to try.
Class Schedule Tuesday, 8:45am until 15 Dec 2020 Bassendean 55plus, 50 Old Perth Road, Bassendean |

Getting older is amazing - with experience, wisdom and grace. However, ageing also causes anxiety and stress, and other chronic conditions. Incorporating a yoga practice into seniors' daily routine can enhance their better quality of life. Chair yoga is very gentle yet stretch every part of the body. The session is suitable for those who experience knee or hip replacement, brain injury, stroke or dementia. Yoga helps improve physical balance to prevent the likelihood of falls. The gentle movements also reduce muscle stiffness and joint pain. In the latter part of the session, breathing exercise and mindfulness calms nerves and stabilises the nervous system.
