Rachel

Rachel began her yoga journey when she suffered from chronic pain and stiffness after too much sitting at her office desk. She discovered regular mindful movement helped her reduce muscle pain enormously. She also realized climbing up the corporate ladder carried a high cost of her physical and mental wellbeing.

Her passion for yoga gave her courage to leave her banking career in Hong Kong. In 2014, she did a certificate IV in yoga teacher training in Byron Yoga Centre. In 2015, she started up VAI YOGA in Fiji, offering corporate yoga program at Embassy of the United States of America, United Nations Population Fund and Paradise Beverages (owned by The Coca-Cola Company).

After moving to Perth, she continues to spread yoga to the community and discovers yoga program for seniors is much needed. A specific yoga program for seniors is developed, helping seniors build strength, improve mobility and reduce pain in community setting and aged care facility.

Aiming to advancing her yoga teaching, Rachel completed Master of Occupational Therapy at Curtin University in 2021. Her yoga class focuses on anatomy and alignment, mindful movement and breathing, using an evidence-based occupational therapy approach. She is interested in skill-based therapy, using yoga, body-mind connection to help people living with mental health concerns.

Qualifications
Master in Occupational Therapy, Curtin University, Australia.
Certificate IV in Yoga Teacher Training Course, Byron Yoga Centre, Australia.
Certificate of Teaching, Level 2 - Chair Yoga, Knoff Yoga.

Ryan

"I started exploring yoga 20 years ago as a way to build strength and flexibility to complement my martial arts and fitness training.

Later, I found yoga and meditation were the best way to manage chronic back pain I experienced due to scoliosis. I became a yoga teacher in 2014 to share the mental and physical health benefits of yoga with the wider community. When I am not in the studio I enjoy open water swimming and working on my garden."

Eileen

"Yoga has been a part of my life for over 20 years, and my practice helps me connect with my inner self as well as others from different backgrounds. I used to work full-time in the administrative and accounting field. I then work part-time and raise my family. As my children become adults, I refocus on self-care and that’s the turning point for me to become a yoga instructor. I am so blessed to choose this path. This is a perfect career for me that I couldn’t love more.

I am a people person, and always enjoy socialising with others especially with my yoga students. I love to encourage people to know, to accept and to love their body through practicing yoga. Yoga is for everyBODY. Smiles on students face are my biggest reward and motivation, which further deepens my practice. Come and join me at Vai yoga. Besides yoga, I love traveling, kickboxing and listening to music."

Kristi

Kristi was initially drawn to yoga as a teen for the physical benefits and sense of community. Over the years however, her practice has become a steadying anchor, grounding and supporting her through the inevitable ebbs and flows of life.

Yoga has helped Kristi through periods of chronic back pain, through times of stress and overwhelm and has been pivotal in helping her cultivate ways to be more present, calm and compassionate.

Kristi completed her 350 hour Teacher Training in 2018 and enjoys teaching a range of styles including vinyasa, yin, prenatal/postnatal, seniors and restorative/yoga nidra.

Her classes are welcoming and accessible, with a focus on functional movement to support and nurture all bodies and abilities. Kristi hopes to provide an opportunity for students to find a deeper connection to self through breath awareness and exploring their relationship between mind and body.
